Center Click.
A deliberate three-, four-, or five-finger trackpad tap becomes one middle click. Four fingers is the default. Use it system-wide wherever macOS apps support middle-click input.

One tap, system-wide.
Center Click receives trackpad contact frames locally. After it recognizes your configured tap, it posts one middle click at the pointer, system-wide where middle-click input is supported.
Lives in the menu bar. Disappears after setup.
LSUIElement background agent. No Dock icon, no app switcher entry. Launch-at-login is one toggle. Hide the menu bar icon entirely if you want the app to vanish; reopen Preferences from Finder.
Gesture data stays on your Mac.
No analytics or telemetry. Configuration lives in UserDefaults. Local diagnostics do not contain keystrokes, screen contents, or gesture contents. If you choose Support, your browser opens Tally; the app adds no support context, while Tally receives ordinary web-request data and what you submit.
Three, four, or five fingers. You pick.
Default is four fingers; switch to three or five in Preferences. Stationary-tap classification with a configurable threshold. If the icon is hidden, relaunching from Finder opens Preferences on the running instance.
One permission. Explained plainly.
macOS asks for Accessibility permission so Center Click can post the resulting middle click after recognizing your gesture. It does not inspect other apps' accessibility trees, read on-screen text, or log keystrokes.
